Valentines With The BEST Dad

I’m sure my posts have made it seem like the “Kallen Show” in our household, and that’s partly because it kind of is right now!  But of course our sweet girls are never forgotten. Kate (age 9) and Karsten (age 6) got all dressed up last night to go on a special Valentines Day date with their daddy!

But let me back up. The last 4 years, Kate and Kevin have gone to a Daddy/Daughter dance, sponsored by Kate’s elementary school. Karsten would watch Kate get dolled up every year to go to this special event, and she was SOOOOO jealous. She and I always did something special (like a DIY spa day) but it just wasn’t the same. Every year she would watch Kate drive off and say “In ___ years, I will be in big school and get to go too!”

Well, THIS is her year. She is a kindergartener now, but thanks to COVID, there is no Daddy/Daughter dance this year. So instead, we got the girls all dolled up and he took them out to eat on a special Daddy/Daughter date.

I am thankful for these two girls that God entrusted us with, and thankful that they have such a thoughtful, loving daddy, who enjoys spending time with them. He is setting the bar very high for them!
