Middle School Pageant
Kate is in 7th grade this year (SEVENTH!) and the PTA sponsored a middle school pageant. She decided to try out something new and signed up. It was such a fun day with my girl.
Instead of a casual wear portion, they had something called “Personality Plus”. The girls were encouraged to pick out something that described their personality – what they are like, what their interest are, etc. Kate chose to wear her Georgia football jersey, which was probably not a surprise to anyone there!
For the evening gown portion, she picked out a royal blue dress. I couldn’t believe how old she looked when she put this on. No longer my toddler or even my little kid. She is definitely a young lady now. I was so proud of her for doing this and having the confidence to get up on stage in front of all of those people at 12 years old. I definitely wouldn’t have had the courage to do it at her age!
She had lots of support and a cheering section with her family, and she placed as 3rd runner up. She told me afterwards that she had a blast and that she is definitely doing it again next year.
