Kate is EIGHT!
On August 10th, my girl Kate turned EIGHT. She is such a light in our lives and I am loving watching her grow up, while also being slightly sad with each passing year that we’ll never get to experience again. How have eight years gone by since we welcomed this sweet girl into our family?
She is so loving, kind and caring. She always wants to be your friend and has a smile on her face almost all of the time. She is for sure a little extrovert and will talk to anyone she sees (and will also invite you to her softball games on the spot). She’s totally a people person and anytime we get in the car to go somewhere she asks “Who else will be there?” or “Can we call ______ to come with us?”
She has become such a GIRLY girl in the past year – loving jewelry, pocketbooks, trying to sneak makeup, wearing her hair down, and totally into fashion. If she’s like this at 8, I can only imagine the teenage years!
She is literally growing UP faster than we can keep up with. A month or so ago I got a new pair of sneakers. Kate decided she liked them and tried them on. Y’all. THEY FIT. And then she stole my shoes. My eight year old stole my shoes. So it begins….
Every year I see more glimpses of the grown up Kate. I pray that she is kind and a good friend to others, that she tells the truth, that she is thankful and appreciative, that she is helpful to those in need, and that she is BOLD in standing for truth. Most of all, I pray she loves Jesus with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength. This girl can do big things and I’m so thankful I get to be her Mama and be her biggest cheerleader.
