It’s Official

Today will forever be a special day for our family as we finalized Kallen’s adoption in court today. We will celebrate February 4th as his Gotcha day and will remember how thankful that we are that he is a part of our family.

While our court hearing was “virtual” and not at all what we had imagined, it was so special and we will have such sweet memories of this day. The Judge even swore the girls in and asked them a few questions.

At the end, the Judge made some sweet comments and teared up. In family court, he said he sees a lot of not-good things and some days are very hard. He re-iterated that he was so very glad to end his day with an adoption and being a part of a HAPPY occasion.

We hadn’t planned to go out to eat, but we decided we needed to celebrate. So we took Kallen to our favorite Mexican restaurant for the very first time. Then we came home and Kevin made Carnival Cruise Chocolate Melting Cakes.  If you’ve never had them, you’re missing out!

And that was that. Though we have felt this way since October 2020, we are now OFFICIALLY a family of five. I am so very thankful for these THREE kids that God has blessed me with, and for the opportunity and responsibility of being their Mama. The Lord is so, so good.
