Apple Picking

It is blog catch-up time! I had some technical difficulties the past few months but HOPEFULLY I am back up and running. And believe me, I have a LOT to get caught up on.

First of all, back in the fall, my mom and I took the girls to an apple orchard about an hour from home. We had the perfect day. The weather was great, there were apples to be picked, apple doughnuts were devoured (YUMMM), apple cider was in our cups, and the most surprising fun activity was shooting apples!

We got there and it had been SUPER rainy in the previous few days. We had a minor mishap parking and I almost got stuck, but got out and moved the car to a place that was a bit more dry. Then we were ready to go!

Apple donuts were first and though I didn’t get any pictures, I promise you they might have been one of the highlights of the day. They are SO, so good.

Then we headed out into the orchard to pick a bag of apples. It was late in the season so we ended up walking pretty far, but we found a ton and loaded our bag down. It is so pretty there.

We ended the day with some apple shooting. This was a surprise to us and we really just stumbled across it as we were picking apples and walking around the orchard. It was perfect timing because we got there just a couple of minutes after they opened it up, so the line wasn’t very long.  By the time we finished our turn, the line was way down the road!

All in all, it was a wonderful day with the girls and my mom. I am thankful for days like these and for the memories we made. So much fun!
