Karsten is SIX
Way back on October 6th, Karsten turned SIX.
In some ways 2020 has creeped by, and in others it has flown by. This girl turning six is one of those “where did the year go?” examples!
Karsten is one of a kind, that is for sure! She is hilarious – and she knows it. She has found her role in our family as the comedian, the jokester, and the silly girl. Her smile and her laugh are infectious and you can’t help but smile yourself when you see or hear them.
She is as kind and caring as she is funny. She is a caretaker for bumps and bruises, but if you are sick, she avoids you and your germs at all costs. However, she will make you cards and notes to cheer you up.
She got to experience elementary school for the first time this year, and it’s no surprise that she is finding her place as a teacher’s pet. She loves to tell me about all the ways that she gets to help her teacher – by cleaning erasers, taking notes to other teachers, or helping other kids get logged onto their chrome books.
She is a pro at destroying a room, and is not a fan of picking up after herself or putting her clothes in the hamper. Give her 5 unsupervised minutes and every toy she owns will inevitably be out.
She played soccer for the first time this year and LOVED it (though I don’t think she actually touched the soccer ball all that much). Today she starts a new sport with her first basketball practice. We’re excited to see if this is a sport she likes, or if she’s only doing it because Kate loves basketball.
She loves almost any food, and is my adventurous eater. She’ll often look at dinner and say “Yuck. I don’t like this.” but after 2 bites will declare that it is her favorite meal ever and ask if we can have leftovers for breakfast.
She and Kate are the BEST of friends, and while they argue like any set of sisters, they also love each other fiercely.
Happy (very late) birthday, Karsten! You bring such a light to our lives!
