Trying New Things – Cheerleading!

Last fall both girls played soccer, and while they had a lot of fun, they decided to try something new this year. Kate decided she wanted to try out cheerleading, and Karsten wants to be just like her big sister so cheerleading was it for her too!

Kate had a game first – and she sure does look the part!

Afterwards, I asked her how she liked it. She said it is so much fun! But then asked if she could play soccer again next year.  I have to say, that makes my soccer-mom heart happy. I loved watching her play!

The following week it was Karsten’s turn, and my mini-cheerleader had a BLAST.  I had to take her to a restroom break in the middle of the game, and on the walk over to the bathrooms she looked at me and said “Mom. This is way, way, way, WAY more fun that soccer!”  So I think we have found her sport. She LOVES it.

On another exciting note, Kate’s team was asked to cheer at the ACC Championship game. She is SO excited.  When we first found out about it (a few weeks ago) we told her she would probably get to cheer at the “Clemson game”.  Now, we’re not so sure that will be the case. Ha! Regardless of who is playing, she will have the best time cheering at such a big game.
