Sittin’ Pretty

This is probably a pretty boring blog post to most of you, but it’s just another one of those things that I want to be able to remember 5 years from now.

In the past few weeks, Kate has gotten a lot better at sitting.   She’s can ALMOST sit up by herself on the floor without even putting her hands on the ground.  I actually think that she CAN do it, I’m just too paranoid about her falling over and hitting her head to leave her by herself.  Now that she CAN sit up, that’s all she wants to do.  She can’t stand laying back against something.  If she’s sitting in your lap, she’ll lean forward just enough so she’s not leaning against you.  She wants to do it all by herself. Unless she’s drinking her bottle, she doesn’t want to lean back and relax. She wants to sit up!

We used to be able to use her bouncy seat without strapping her in.  Then she became pretty squirmy so we’d strap one side.  Now we have to strap BOTH sides.  She pulls herself up into a sitting position so if we didn’t strap her in, she would most likely faceplant onto the floor.  That would NOT be good.  So, we use both straps.
I walked into the living room a while back to see her sitting like this, and she probably sat like this for a good 10-15 minutes, very content.

Here are a couple of other pictures of Kate practicing her new skill.  Oh how I love my little girl!
