Last Day of Third Grade

You guys. If ever there was a year to celebrate “we made it”, this would be the year!

Who would have ever thought that when she got out of school one Friday in mid-March, that would be the last day she attended school in person for 3rd grade? Who would have imagined 2020 would start off so normally, but only a few months in, we would be in the middle of a pandemic? What a year.

Regardless, from mid-March through the beginning of June, Kate’s 3rd grade days were spent at home with Mom and Dad (and Karsten) and her schoolwork consisted of online classes. It was different. It was challenging. It was interesting. It was less than ideal. But we made it!

Lots of Google Meets, lots of texts with her teacher, lots of Math Reflex (and celebrating that she got to 100% fluency with all of her multiplication and division), and lots and lots of patience. Again, WHAT A YEAR.

Despite not being at school for the last day, we couldn’t pass up taking our last day picture!

So now, we celebrate! Summer, we are ready for you!
