Last Day of PreSchool

Time and tide wait for no man. Every day my baby becomes less and less like the baby, toddler, and little kid that I remember, and becomes more and more like the big girl that she wants to be. This week we saw another one of the milestone moments pass us by – preschool graduation! (While technically we were not AT school and did not have a true graduation, I couldn’t pass up the chance to take a picture on what should have been her official last day of school.)

Her preschool days did not end with the picnics, parties, hugs and celebrations that we anticipated. The past 2+ months did not play out the way we imagined at all! Nevertheless, we are so thankful for the preschool that she attended for the last 4 years. Karsten had some amazing teachers that love the Lord and their love was evident in the way they cared for our sweet girl. They taught her so much more than the ABC’s and instilled in her lessons that I hope she will remember forever.

I may be sad as her Mama that these preschool days are now behind her, but I can assure you, Karsten is NOT. I have never seen a kid more ready for kindergarten than this one. When she found out she was officially done with preschool, her first question was “Do I get to go to kindergarten TOMORROW?!?” She is constantly peppering Kate with questions about her new school like “Where will my classroom be?”, “Will we sit beside each other in the lunchroom?” and “Can we play together on the playground?” The first day of school cannot come soon enough for her. It may be a long summer!

Here is my yearly comparison picture – first day (August 2019) and her last day (May 2020). Nine months gone in the blink of an eye!

But before kindergarten…. summer! And we are ready for that too!
