I’m 3 for 3 now. This has to be a record. And after this one, I’m officially caught up on blogging. Yay!
This past weekend, we traveled to my home town for a wedding shower for my sister. We hadn’t been home in a while, so even though the shower wasn’t until Sunday, we decided to get there mid-day on Saturday and spend the night. It turned out to be a good decision. We got to visit with my parents, and my dad got to spend a little extra time with his fishing buddy.
In the days leading up to our trip, Kate kept saying “I’m going fishing with Pick!”. She was so excited about fishing, even though as far as I know, she’s never caught a fish before.
After a little bit of fishing with no bites at all, we took a ride on the pontoon boat. This girl loves the water. She was worse than our dogs, running back and forth between all of the doorways/openings as we were riding along. She would start at the front of the boat, then run to the back door, then to the side door, and then repeat the process all over again.
When we got back from our ride, we decided to try the fishing thing again. Almost as soon as my dad finished casting the line and put the rod down, the cork went under the water. And Kate caught her very first fish.
I’m really not sure why she was so insistent on catching a fish, because her reaction was about the same to the fish as it is to worms. She talks about them like she’s obsessed, she asks to go in the yard to “see the worms”, but she won’t touch them or even get all that close to them. The fish was the same way. We did good to get her picture with it!
And after the fish was released back into the water, it was time to try again.
Fishing is an activity so soothing. It gives you the opportunity to relax. I'm glad your daughter was able to catch a fish. It is very important that she find these small little delights of life. And I'm sure she liked it. You have a beautiful family!

Spend More Time With Your Children http://www.nightart.org/fundus. It does not matter if you work full time or part time. Maybe you stay at home with your children but you are working from home. Even if you stay home with your children, you are busy trying to get everything done. No matter who you are, you probably think that you are not spending enough time with your children. Quality time, that is. There are many ways to spend more time with your children. Your children do not need to play every sport or do every extracurricular activity out there. You could spend all of your time running your children from one practice to another. Pick just one or two activities that your children love and stick with them. Plan family dinners where everyone sits at the table, eats, and talks about their day. Make dinners special so everyone likes to spend time together while eating. Let your children help when you are working on things. They can help fix dinner, clean, and fix things. Children learn by watching and doing. Chores can turn into time together so that they are much more enjoyable. Do things that your children want to do. It is hard when the house is a mess but get on the floor and play with your children. Play games that they enjoy. Have a movie night and watch their favorite movie. Find things that you enjoy doing together. Arts and crafts can be a big hit. NightArt is helping bring parents and children together. You can design a drawing and watch it light up together. No one feels like they spend enough time with their children. However, you need to make the most of time spent together, instead of worrying if you are spending enough time together. Find things that you enjoy doing together, like NightArt. Check it out at http://www.nightart.org/fundus. It will bring out the artist in everyone, bringing families together.

Yay Kate on your first fish! Looks like you all had a nice trip. Definitely think going early was a good decision and I'm sure Kate agrees 🙂

The adoption process can be difficult to deal with, but at the same time it can change someones life for the better. I know this from experience. I got these great adoption services when I put my son up for adoption.
