Last month, Kate’s birth mom graduated from high school. We had the privilege of being able to attend her graduation and loved being a part of her special day. Because they don’t live very close to us, Kevin, Kate and I left right after church on a Sunday morning and made it to her ceremony only 15 minutes before it was about to start. We all stayed in the ceremony while the graduates marched in, but Kevin and Kate went out into the hallway not long after that. After a long car ride, Kate was not in the mood to sit and be quiet. Come to think of it, she’s never in the mood to sit and be quiet. After the ceremony, we went to a short reception for all of the graduates, and then joined their family for dinner. And of course she also liked playing with the mama Koala bear and baby Koala bear, which I remember playing with when I was little.
And just spending time with her great-grandmother, Mitzi. They were best pals by the time we left and Kate was constantly staying “Mitzi! Mitzi!” over the next few days.
It was a wonderful weekend, and one that we will remember for forever!
Last Friday, Kate and Kevin made some special memories when they went to their second ever Daddy/Daughter dance. Kate’s school puts on this event each…
