Happy 6 Month Birthday!
Kate was 6 months old yesterday and, like I say EVERY month, I just can’t believe it! Where has the time gone? She is growing so fast and I can only imagine about the things I’ll be writing on her 7 month birthday!
In the past month, Kate has tried sweet potatoes, bananas, squash and peas. So far her favorite food is squash and her least favorite food is peas. She’s not a fan, but she’ll still eat it. Even after multiple tastes, she still makes the funniest faces and gives a little shudder when she eats peas. Now squash on the other hand, she can down about 4 oz of it and want more. Typically she eats about 2 oz of whatever we’re serving and then drinks a 4-5 oz bottle,
Kate’s such a happy, smiley baby. She loves to smile and we think that she is a pretty easy going little girl. 6 months is such a fun age.
Still no teeth but her hands are constantly in her mouth, along with anything she can grab. We went to dinner at Moe’s last night and she spent the whole time trying to grab my nachos and my drink, with her mouth wide open.
She’s not crawling yet either, but she’s pushing up on her arms really high and sometimes “scoots” backwards. Last night before we left for Moe’s, we put her on a blanket in our living room while we got everything ready to go. I walked back in the room and she’d somehow gotten herself moved all the way across the room to the other side. I’m assuming she “scooted”. I think it won’t be too much longer before she’s crawling.
Here are a couple of cute 6 month pictures. I think they’re going to get harder and harder to take because she discovered that it is actually a sticker on her shirt. And what did she do with it? Try to put it in her mouth, of course. 🙂 Is anybody really surprised?
Anybody notice that red little nose? Last night she started getting her very first cold. We’ve been so blessed to have a 100% healthy child for the past 6 month. I know it’s rare for a child to go that long without any kinds of problems, so we really do know how blessed we’ve been. Her streak has now come to an end though. I could tell Kate was a little stuffy last night when I put her to bed, and when I got her up this morning she was not feeling so hot. She has a little cough. And I think that she already has this sharing thing down pat. I woke up with a sore throat this morning too.
Because of the sniffles, her bed-side crib-side table has been rearranged to look like this…
We didn’t already have a humidifier so I stopped by Target on my way home. This was actually the cheapest one they had, and I think it’s pretty cute too. Win-Win.
And just for fun, here is a comparison of how much Kate has changed over the past 6 months.
